When cinemas shoot themselves in the foot

I went to my local multiplex today and watched Inception, possibly the most amazing film I've seen since The Matrix. It just one of those "milestone" films. Just go see it.

However, the cinema industry is just shit-scared of piracy and today I experienced it's next step: bag searches. First came the "please report any suspicious camera use" adverts. Then came the "do you realise you're putting people on the dole queue?" infomercials. More recently we've been "thanked for choosing to spend our money and watch a movie properly".

So in it's latest battle with piracy, the industry demands a bag search from every twenty-quid paying customer to see one of it's movies.

The industry will end up on the dole queue because it chooses to treat it's customer base like terrorists whilst believing them to be pirates.

Fools.
